I chose the quote,”Relinquish your fears and doubts and heal yourself in the process” (147 Stevenson). This quote shows how prisoners on death row usually get to a point where they become numb to the pain and fears of their situation and try to become a better person. Also, this quote makes me wonder if I was to be wrongly convicted of a crime would I feel similar to what the quote describes. Also, The book talks about prisoners becoming religious or find an interest in the legal system to help them get through their difficult situation. I think that it is smart for the prisoners to find something productive to due with their time and try to get their minds off of a difficult situation.
